Obituary for Mildred Horne Deans

Mrs. Mildred Ann Horne Deans, 78, of Kenly, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center. Mildred was born in Johnston County on November 29, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Joe Freeman Horne and Mattie Grice Horne.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christi Ann Deans Pearce and sister, Gertrude Horne Nixon.

Mildred was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She retired from Johnson and Johnson as a seamstress. Mildred will be remembered for her love of flowers and her green thumb.

She is survived by her husband, Luther Riley Deans of Kenly; three sons, Luby Linwood (Cami) Narron, Michael Keith (Jan) Narron, and Terry Glenn (Amy) Narron all of Kenly; honorary son, Ino Arellina of Kenly; grandchildren, Jerry (Cassi) Narron of Princeton, Matthew (Caroline) Narron of Athens, GA, Casey (Mairin) Narron of Winterville, Brittany (Mardi) Narron of Burlington, and Brooke (Gabe) Pate of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Connor, Skylar, and Urban; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mildred will lie in state at Kenly Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. A service to celebrate Mildred’s life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Kenly Cemetery with Rev. Jasper Renfrow officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home.
